Swimlane

A swimlane is a horizontal band across a kanban board that separates one class of work from another — by team, by priority or by workstream.

Swimlanes solve visual crowding on shared boards, most often with an expedite lane at the top for genuine emergencies. The lane's value comes entirely from the rule attached to it: an expedite lane with no cap becomes the normal lane within a month.

For small teams, filters usually achieve the same thing with less structure — the same board viewed by type, assignee or label.

In Flocci Projects

Not implemented. Flocci Projects has no swimlanes; the equivalent is filtering the board or the Issues list by assignee, label or status.
