Definition of ready

The definition of ready is the checklist an item must satisfy before it can enter a sprint: clear title, enough description to estimate, sized, and no blocking dependency.

It is the mirror image of the definition of done, and it exists to stop sprint planning from turning into a writing meeting. If an item cannot be estimated in two minutes, it is not ready — it goes back to refinement rather than consuming the whole team's afternoon.

Teams that adopt one usually find their planning meeting halves in length within two sprints, because the failure mode it prevents was consuming most of the time.

In Flocci Projects

Not enforced by the product; it is a team agreement applied during refinement before issues are scoped into a sprint.
