Agile project management tools compared, 2026

Across the twelve tools below, three patterns hold: sprints and story points are usually paywalled or absent (ClickUp gates Sprint Points to Business at $12/user/month, monday.com moves them into monday dev, and Trello, Asana, Notion and Basecamp have none at all); AI is increasingly a per-user surcharge rather than an included capability; and only two vendors here price natively in rupees. Flocci Projects includes sprints, story points and velocity on a free personal board at ₹49/seat/month for teams — but has no burndown chart, no mobile apps and no integration marketplace.

Head-to-head comparisons

How to read this table

Free tiers are not comparable on headline generosity alone — Trello's ten collaborators, Linear's 250-issue ceiling, Zoho's three projects and our single-player personal board fail in completely different ways, so the right question is which limit you hit first. On price, convert honestly: $10/user/month is roughly ₹840, which is why per-seat dollar pricing dominates an Indian team's tooling budget far faster than a US team's.

On AI, distinguish included capability from surcharge. ClickUp's Brain ($9/user/month) and Everything AI ($28/user/month) are add-ons on top of the plan; Notion charges $10 per 1,000 credits; Asana, monday.com and Plane bundle tier-scoped credit pools. Flocci Projects meters AI against a platform-wide credit wallet shared with 15+ other Flocci apps, with a free monthly grant and no per-user AI fee.

Questions about this comparison

Which agile tools include sprints and velocity for free?

Zoho Sprints is the most generous — velocity, burndown and burnup on every tier including its 3-user free plan. Plane and Shortcut include cycles/iterations and estimates on free tiers but gate the deeper analytics. Flocci Projects includes sprints, story points and velocity insights on a free single-user board. ClickUp, monday.com, Linear and Jira all put some part of the agile reporting behind a paid tier.

Which project management tools price in Indian rupees?

Of the twelve compared here, two: Zoho Sprints (an Indian company publishing INR prices) and Flocci Projects (INR-native, billed through PayU with UPI support). The rest list USD, so an Indian buyer absorbs both the exchange rate and any card forex mark-up.

What is the cheapest agile tool for a five-person team?

By list price in 2026: Flocci Projects at ₹245/month for five seats, then Zoho Sprints Starter at about $5/month total, Plane Pro at $30, ClickUp Unlimited at $35, Shortcut Team at $42.50, monday dev Standard at $60 and Asana Starter at about $55. Jira is free at five users, which makes it the cheapest option at that exact size.

How often is this comparison updated?

Prices here were verified on 2026-07-29 against each vendor's public pricing page, and the page states that date on every row. Vendor pricing changes several times a year, so treat any figure older than a quarter as indicative and confirm on the vendor's own site.
