Sprint planning
Sprint planning is the meeting where a team selects which ready backlog items fit this sprint's capacity and writes the sprint goal.
Planning selects; refinement prepares. Nothing should be written during planning — if an item needs writing, it was not ready and it goes back. That single rule is what keeps a small team's planning to thirty minutes.
The budget is velocity, not enthusiasm. Pulling thirty points on a velocity of twenty because this sprint feels different is the most reliable way to end a sprint demoralised.
In Flocci Projects
The sprint planner drags issues from the backlog into a sprint with points summing live, alongside the velocity trend from completed sprints.
