Burnup chart
A burnup chart plots completed work rising toward a separate total-scope line, so both progress and scope change are visible at once.
The second line is the whole point. When scope jumps mid-sprint, everyone sees that the commitment changed, and the conversation becomes 'we added work' rather than 'why are you slow' — which is a materially different meeting.
For release-level tracking across many sprints, burnup is usually the more honest chart, because scope on a multi-month effort always moves and a burndown would attribute all of it to team speed.
