Kanban
Kanban is a flow-based method where work moves continuously through columns and the team limits how much is in progress at once.
Kanban has no fixed iteration. Work enters when capacity frees, and the improvement lever is work-in-progress limits rather than sprint commitments — which is why it fits interrupt-driven work like support, operations and rolling client requests.
Its metrics are duration-based: cycle time and lead time, rather than velocity. A kanban team asks 'how long does an item take' where a scrum team asks 'how much fits in a sprint'.

The five-column board (Backlog, Todo, In Progress, Review, Done) is a drag-and-drop kanban view over the same issues sprints operate on, so a team can run either or both.
