MD Afsar Hussain

A decade at SAP Labs India — building application-lifecycle software like SAP Cloud ALM that millions rely on across 100+ countries — teaches one blunt lesson: a plan only survives if it lives in a single honest place. Flocci Projects is that lesson as a sprint tracker — FP-42 issue keys minted from an atomic counter so two quick-adds can never collide, a kanban that persists server-side, a sprint lifecycle that can reopen — built by MD Afsar Hussain.

Why Flocci Projects exists

Most trackers let the plan quietly rot in the gaps between a doc, a chat thread, and a board that all disagree. The founder spent a decade inside SAP's application-lifecycle management and petabyte-scale data systems, where a dropped state change isn't a UX annoyance — it's an outage someone gets paged for. Projects carries that same reflex: issue keys handed out by a per-project atomic issue_sequences counter, so two teammates hammering quick-add in the same second can't both be given FP-42; due dates and sprint dates that actually persist after an early validator was caught silently stripping them; and every card move broadcast as a projects:changed event over Socket.io, so a teammate's board updates by push rather than on their next refresh. It's the unglamorous baseline a team can actually build a plan on.

An architect's instinct: build the core once

At SAP, Afsar's work was the shared foundation beneath many products — not any single screen. Flocci Projects is that instinct productized. It isn't a standalone tracker but one of five apps — Projects, Library, Calendar, Notes and Infinity — riding a single Hono backend where identity, realtime, AI and cross-app links were wired once at the core and inherited by all five. That is why an issue can cross-link straight to a calendar event with linked badges on both ends, and why AI "breakdown" turns a goal into a backlog through Flocci's own DeepSeek intelligence service — wrapped in a traceable, idempotent envelope — instead of a bolted-on plug-in. These are capabilities a weekend to-do app could never afford; here they were nearly free, because the enterprise architect built the plumbing once and let every domain inherit it.

From SAP's enterprise core to 80+ products

A B.Tech from BIT Mesra and an M.Tech from BITS Pilani set the foundation for more than ten years as a senior engineer at SAP Labs India — SAP BusinessObjects Cloud, a petabyte-scale data infrastructure, and SAP Cloud ALM used by millions across 100+ countries. Then MD Afsar Hussain left to prove one architect could build an entire ecosystem on a single shared foundation: ERP, POS, HRMS, D2C, work apps and AI — every vertical launching in weeks, not years.
